October Afternoon Tuesday Sketch

Hello Again,
Between LaCrosse matches this weekend I was able to craft a little. I wanted to use the sketch that October Afternoon provided on Tuesday to put some more pictures on a page AND to use some more of my October Afternoon Stash.

Here is the layout I put together using the sketch:

http://octoberafternoon.typepad.com/october_afternoon/2013/04/tuesday-sketch-round-em-up.html

The above is where I got the sketch.

Now I used several October Afternoon lines when making this layout.
The background paper is from the Boarding Pass Line
The title is from Witch Hazel.
Stickers from Campfire and Woodland Park line.
Woodland Park Miscellany, Flower Sack and Doo Dads.

Now I do not have a sewing machine (it is on my wish list)  so I made some faux stitching to mimic the sketch.

Hope you like my page!

Unity Friends with Flair -- ONTIME -- WOOT WOOT!!

Hello Friends,
Well as you know (or may not so I'll tell ya), I have made cards to participate in the Friday Unity Friends with Flair but have not posted before the linky was closed. WELL -- NOT AGAIN!! LOL!!

My Pastor, who is an AMAZING Man of God has actually accepted a call to be the head Pastor at a church in Lincoln, Nebraska. I cannot tell you how much I will miss this man and his beautiful family. That congregation in Nebraska is in for an amazing treat, I mean this man Loves the Lord and loves sharing that love with people. He is a true disciple.

Well I wanted to send Pastor Adam a card from myself letting him know I will miss him and how he has Blessed mine and my families life.

I put this card together for him:
This is an Itty Bitty stamp titled Trust With Your Heart. I used a 6x6 pad from Crate Paper Farmhouse, the verse was stamped with memento ink and then I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen around the edges. I used a cuttlebug folder on the background paper, Spellbinders dies to cut the other paper, brads from October Afternoon Farm Girl and Doodlebug Home. My ribbon is some seam binding and pop dots.

Blessings, Jenny

Unity Friday

OK - the last 2 weeks in a row I made cards to participate in the Unity Friends with Flair Fridays and did not post before the linky was disabled. Well, now I know that it is only open on Friday so I will not be missing it again.

Here are the cards I had made to participate:
This stamp is an Itty Bitty called Good Day Sunshine. I inked it up with some Memento ink and then used a bit of blue chalk to add to the background. The brads are from October Afternoons Farm Girl line, paper is a 6x6 pad from My Minds Eye and of course I used some pop dots to add some dimension.

This image is a Itty Bitty titled Share your smile. I stamped it up with Stampin Up ink and used a 6x6 paper pad from My Minds Eye Lost and Found Collection. The background is embossed with a cuttlebug die and I used brown ribbon from my stash and pop dots.

The second one here I actually changed up a little. When I posted it last week I just felt that something was missing. Well, I took it apart and added the doily behind the stamped image. I sprayed it with some Tattered Angels and just felt it added that last little something that it definitely needed.

Love my Unity stamps, they are extremely versatile and SO fun and easy to use.

LOTV Card from Scraps

While I was making my layout on Saturday I had just a little time left in the movie I had playing in the background so didn't want to start another layout but certainly had lots of scraps laying around.

I had colored up this LOTV image previously so thought I would go ahead and get it put onto a card:

I used my copics to color the image, a spellbinders die to cut it out. The background paper is from My Little Shoebox (scraps I have left from the layout I made for The Paper Bakery Challenge). Ribbon, buttons, trendy twine and pop dots from stash and the sentiment is from My Creative Time.

YAY - it is almost Friday!! Enjoy your day.

Christmas Layout

I was on a roll this past Saturday and was able to get some layouts done. I take so many pictures and do not make enough time to get them scrapbooked. I seem to spend way more time making cards but I think that is about to change.

Here is the layout I made to document our Christmas this year:

Paper used is from another DCWV Christmas stack. I used my cricut for the Merry Christmas balls, family, love and for some ornaments. I used my gypsy girl and did not save the cuts so cannot remember what cartridges I used.

Hope you enjoy my layout.

3 Amigos Layout

In the Chicagoland area we really did not get much snow this past winter so I do not have many pictures. But I did have these 2 that I took with my cell phone of my son and the 2 neighbor boys. They are here quite often but it helps to keep my son busy and they are really great kids.

I made this layout today while these 3 were playing outside:
The background paper is DCWV and so are the cute sayings on the right hand side. The 3 Amigos was cut using a font cricut cartridge (I cannot remember any of the cartridges used offhand sorry). The snowman and abominable snowman were cut using my Imagine sometime ago and were in my scraps pile.

And here is the layout I made yesterday and this one together:

I'm always happy to get these memories on pages!

Snowflakes for Sandy Hook

With the horrible events last December that happened at the Sandy Hook Elementary school, the nation reached out and wanted to do something really special to welcome the kids when they went back to school. There was a call for snowflakes that they would then hang around the school to make it into a Winter Wonderland when they returned. Our school district organized a day that kids could gather and make the snowflakes together over Christmas Break. I of course had to document the moment and take some pictures. I am SO happy that I have now put these pictures onto a page to share with you:

The background paper is from DCWV. My title was cut using  A Childs Year cricut cartridge and the snowflakes were cut using Accent Essentials.

It is a shame that we continue to have these attacks all across our nation our hearts and prayers were in Boston and Dallas just this week. But in all the bad, look for the good, the people who run towards all the craziness to help. There is a plan, we just don't know what it is and we have to Believe that true goodness and mercy will win out every time.

Unity Friday Friends with Flair

Last week I missed out on posting my card to the Unity Friends with Flair as I was late. I tried to enter it on Sunday night and the linky was already closed. Total Bummer. Well, this week I wanted to make sure I was prepared and made my card ahead of time.

This image is a Itty Bitty titled Share your smile. I stamped it up with Stampin Up ink and used a 6x6 paper pad from My Minds Eye Lost and Found Collection. The background is embossed with a cuttlebug die and I used brown ribbon from my stash and pop dots.

I love Friday Friends with Flair and checking out what everyone submits. Such great ideas.

LOTV Card

I colored some Lily Of the Valley images up and was able to add this sweet one to a card.

I colored these sweet girls with Copics and used a Spellbinders die to cute them out. The background paper is from a 6x6 pad from My Minds Eye Everyday Flair. The flowers are from Prima, sentiment is from My Creative Time, some brads and pop dots.

I will also be linking this up to My Craft Spot Anything Goes Challenge.

Another card to add to stash for when needed.

October Afternoon Tuesday Sketch Banners

I love me some October Afternoon and was able to partake in their Santa Sack sales this year and have been hoarding so much of this amazing product since. Well I guess I do not pay that much attention because this was the first week I noticed that they have a Tuesday Sketch challenge that you can enter.

I made this card to participate this week:

Everything on this card is from the Woodland Park collection. I love the sweet flowers and pretty colors.

Hope you like my entry. Now I have to go and figure out how to add it to their flickr group.

The Paper Bakery Sketch Challenge

Hello Again,
I put some pictures on pages again today and it makes me SO HaPpY!! I followed the Sketch that Juliana Michaels designed for The Paper Bakery. I used a sketch for the first time this past week and I am hooked. This takes that design portion out of the picture and I was able to just focus on the papers and pictures I wanted to use.

Here are the 2 layouts I did using the sketch:

All paper and doo-dahs used are from My Little Shoebox. These are all hoarded supplies and I am so happy to put them to use especially with the special subjects I added to the pages.

Thanks for looking!!

DCWV Sketch Challenge

I know I have mentioned a few time that I have about 9999999 pictures to get on pages and in some scrapbooks. But I have a confession to make, I LOVE the feeling of accomplishment I get when I get a card put together -- things may be a changing!!! I have learned -- just today while making this page for the DCWV Challenge -- that if I use a sketch, I can possibly get a page made in the same amount of time that it takes me to make a card!! YIPPIEE!!!

Here is the page I made to participate in the April Sketch Challenge going on right now:

I used the Birthday Bash stack for all the patterned paper and the Brights stack for matting and flowers. Thickers were used for the letters.

I will definitely be experimenting with using sketches to see if it really does help with my productivity.

My Crafty Spot Cute Critter

Hello Again,
I made a list on my day off the other day that would help me with remembering a few challenges out there and get me back into regular crafting. I am happily building up my stash of cards and having a critter card is always a nice addition to the stash for sure.

I put this Lil' Lady together using all scraps from stash!!!
I apologize ahead of time for the bad picture! This ladybug can be found on the Birthday Bash cartridge. I used some stickles on her and some google eyes and drew on some eyelashes. The stamp is from My Pink Stamper, twine is from Paper Trey Ink and the button is just one I had.

Fridays With Flair - Unity

Hello Again,

I wanted to get crafty and post to my favorite challenge so I needed to get busy. This is the card I made to participate in the Unity Friday challenge this week.

I have had this stamp for awhile and I am ashamed to admit it is the first time I have inked it up. (Although I am sure it will not be my last!!) This stamp is an Itty Bitty called Good Day Sunshine. I inked it up with some Memento ink and then used a bit of blue chalk to add to the background. The brads are from October Afternoons Farm Girl line, paper is a 6x6 pad from My Minds Eye and of course I used some pop dots to add some dimension.

Birthday Card for a Dear Friend

I needed to make a Birthday card for my very best friend and this is what I came up with:

The sweet little girl is an image from LOTV colored with Copics. Background paper is from a 6x6 pad from Dear Lizzy called Neapolitan. The brads, ribbon, chipboard and stickers are from October Afternoon Cakewalk line. I love everything about this card but not as much as I love my friend Abby. I am BLESSED to have her for such a dear friend and cherish anytime we spend together.

I will also be entering this card into the challenge going on right now at Use It Tuesday where you have to use stickers.

Oh and just for kicks, I used this stamp on the back of the card for my friend:

Put Your Big Girl Undies On

This card was completely inspired by Erin Lee from: http://www.erinleecreative.com/. Although the design does not match hers, I made this card with hers in mind (I will be making more of these!!).

The stamps are from Unity using both their Hiya Gorgeous and Sexy,Silly & Sassy stamps. Paper is from My Minds Eye 6x6 pad titled Everyday Flair. The ink is from Stampin Up (color Really Rust), pop dots, and LYB gems.

Unity Friends With Flair

Have you seen all the AWESOME sales at Unity??? I have and may I say I have partaken - quite a bit. I just love their stamps and the awesome designers they feature to help inspire you along the way.

I am sure a lot of you will relate to this stamp that I have used to send a quick card out to a friend that I need to catch up with:

This is an Itty Bitty stamp from Unity called Tight Jeans Dirty Floors - LOVE!!! I used Crate Paper 6x6 pad called Random, Hemp Cord from MFT, LYB gems, a cuttlebug folder, memento ink and pop dots.

Enjoy your day! The sun is a shining here and later this afternoon my DS is attending an Amazing Race BD party. Should be fun.

Engagement card

Yesterday a friend that my daughter works with got engaged. While we were emailing back and forth she mentioned she wanted to go and get them a card. I said that would be nice. She them immediately emailed me back stating or you could make one for me -- lol!

Well yesterday was a work day for me so I generally do not spend any time crafting but I have so much stuff I told her I would.

I used the Sweethearts cartridge from cricut. Paper is from Teresa Collins, a cuttlebug folder, LYB gem, ribbon from stash, pop dots and a red heart button with floss. This came together fairly quickly and my daughter seemed to love it. As a matter of fact she says she may want to use the same design for herself someday when sending out "Save the Dates".

Here is what I came up with:

Another LOTV Card

Hello again,

On my card making Monday I was able to put a total of 3 cards together but in an effort to post more frequently I decided not to post them all at once but spread them out over a couple of days.

Here is the second card I completed on Monday:

EEK!!! These Lili of the Valley stamps are just the sweetest images if you ask me. I colored up this cutie with Copics. The paper is My Minds Eye Everyday Flair 6x6 pad and stash for the layers. The ribbon is PTI Hibiscus Burst, pop dots and the ticket die and stamp are from My Creative Time.

Have a Sweet Day!!

Card Making Monday

Today I began a 30 day Spring Cleaning schedule that I found on Money Saving Mom, I got the family on board and figured since this will be broken into 30 days it will be manageable and at the end the house will be ready for summer! Yeah!!

I am very Blessed in that I only work 3 days a week, granted they are long days between 10 - 12 hours but it is nice to be off 4 days a week. The weekend is typically full of family obligations (sports and such) but on Monday and Tuesday I take care of the house, laundry, shopping and am hoping to be able to craft more regularly. I LOVE working on cards - I think it is the immediate gratification thing, so I am going to work on continuing to build up my stash with those on Monday's. On Tuesday's I am hoping to get my 9,999,999 pictures onto pages to continue to capture those family memories.

OK enough blathering, today I colored up this adorable Lili of the Valley image and got her onto a card:

I colored the image with Copics, used My Minds Eye Everyday Flair 6x6 pad for the paper and PTI Blueberry Sky for the card. Prima Flowers, pop-dots, spellbinders die, memento ink and the sentiment is from TPC.

I think she is as sweet as can be and definitely looks to be enjoying the moment!!

Blessings, Jenny
